Walnut Hill Summer Youth Visual Art is a 2-week day program offering instruction in drawing, painting, and mixed media. Students will learn and experiment with the fundamentals of composition, perspective, and color theory while working in two-dimensional media. Using images created in Photoshop, they will develop oil paintings and mixed media drawings.
Students will also have the opportunity to explore traditional techniques of fiber arts while focusing on its contemporary applications.
In our fully equipped facility, our experienced faculty offers classes at the highest artistic level for this targeted age group.
- Lunch is included in the dining hall (hot and cold options)
- Free-time swim in on-campus pool (fully supervised)
- First week field trip to museum in the Boston area (both sessions)
- Program concludes with an exhibition of students’ work in the Pooke Gallery located on the Walnut Hill campus (both sessions)
- Intimate 10:1 student/teacher ratio
- All art materials included
